Terms of Service

Welcome to Rally Study. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SSP1 Labs LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("we", "our", or "us"), governing your use of the Rally Study mobile application ("Rally" or "the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or older if the age of digital consent in your country is higher. Rally is designed for college students, and certain features may require a valid university email address.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
You may not create accounts for others or transfer your account.
Guest accounts are temporary and expire at midnight on the day they are created.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App, nor copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Harass, bully, or send abusive messages to other users
Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
Attempt to manipulate leaderboards, study time, or rankings through fraudulent means
Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers
Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the App
Share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content through chat
Use another user's shared location to follow, contact, or locate them without their consent

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (messages, display names, profile information). By using the App, you grant us a licence to display this content to other users as part of the App's functionality (for example, showing your messages in chat rooms, or your name on leaderboards).

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. There is no tolerance for objectionable content (including harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, or content that targets or demeans others) or for abusive users. Every user can report content and block other users from within the App. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them — typically within 24 hours — by removing the content and ejecting the offending user. We also filter offensive usernames and display names at sign-up.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

Rally Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the current period ends.
Focus Point bundles are one-time purchases. Focus Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not transferable between accounts.
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and refund decisions are made by Apple, not by us.
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Features that require an active Pro entitlement, including premium analytics, study-log export, and custom timer photo backgrounds, are available while that entitlement remains active. Themes available only through Pro may become unavailable when Pro ends; separately purchased themes remain owned. These product restrictions do not limit applicable privacy rights.

7. Location Features

Location access is optional. When you enable Location public in Rally's Settings and grant iOS While Using the App permission, Rally checks for a nearby supported campus study spot when you enter the App and periodically while it is open and no study timer is running. Rally does not request Always location access, monitor background geofences, or track your movements while the App is closed.

Verification checks whether you are near a supported building; floors are selected manually. Availability depends on supported sites, device permissions, location accuracy, and connectivity. Starting a timer does not wait for a new GPS check. If a verified campus spot is unavailable, you can use Home or Somewhere else, and Rally remembers your selected fallback.

A verified session location records the session's starting study place, not your continuous physical position. Rally does not continuously check that you remain there while the timer runs. A location shown beside another user's session is not a guarantee that they are still at that place.

Location sharing defaults off for accounts created after this default was introduced on September 9, 2026. Existing accounts retain their saved choices. Campus-map visibility requires both Location public and Timer public to be on and is subject to blocking controls. A Friends filter controls what you see, not who can see your own shared place. Home and Somewhere else are manual labels and never appear on the campus map, though they may appear with shared activity according to your privacy settings.

You can study with core timer and task features without location permission. Verified campus presence requires permission and a successful check. Turn Location public off in Profile → Settings to stop detection and remove campus-map presence. You can also revoke location permission in iOS Settings to stop future checks. Changing permission or visibility does not delete past session-location records.

Location detection is approximate and should not be relied on for navigation, safety, or emergencies. Attempting to defeat or spoof location detection in order to claim study time you did not earn is a violation of section 4. How we handle location data is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by SSP1 Labs LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or free of errors. Study time tracking is approximate and should not be relied upon as the sole measure of academic effort. Rally Score, study plans, and task estimates are based on recorded activity and available information; they do not measure learning or guarantee grades or other academic results. Use estimates as a starting point, not a deadline.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SSP1 Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, academic outcomes, or interruption of service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.

12. Apple

These Terms are between you and SSP1 Labs LLC only, not with Apple Inc. SSP1 Labs LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
SSP1 Labs LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
SSP1 Labs LLC, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
